Leadership Training Program

The Leadership Training Program at Quinte Bay Gymnastics (QBGC) is designed to lay the foundation for aspiring individuals to become great leaders and confident coaches. This program provides a unique blend of self-reflection, goal setting, and skill development, essential for understanding social cues, improving communication, managing behaviour, and lesson planning. Furthermore, participants will get acquainted with our gym rules, expectations, procedures, routines, and much more.

Throughout the Leadership Training Program, the recreational program director will have the opportunity to learn more about each participant as they progress through our comprehensive curriculum. The program is divided into two main components: classroom learning and hands-on gym experience. The classroom sessions will cover theoretical aspects, while the practical sessions in the gym will focus on applying these concepts. Participants will be equipped with the tools to create the 'magic' in gymnastic instruction, building on the skill intentions laid out in each lesson and mastering gymnastic progressions. Together, we will review, reflect, and conduct a final evaluation of the program to ensure all goals are met.

Upon successful completion of the program, each participant will be given two opportunities to 'shadow' one of our established QBGC coaches during class. This invaluable experience will allow participants to observe firsthand the characteristics and skills necessary to be a great leader and a strong, confident coach.
